SchoolWires Maintenance

This notice is to inform you that our hosting engineering team will be performing 2 important maintenance activities to the hosting environment.

 

Maintenance Activity 1 is scheduled to occur Sunday March 30 between 1:00 AM EDT and 3:00 AM EDT.  Up to two (2) service interruptions of no more than five (5) minutes in duration are anticipated during this maintenance event. 

 

Maintenance Activity 2 is scheduled to occur between Saturday April 5 11:00 PM EDT and Sunday April 6 5:00 AM EDT.  Up to two (2) service interruptions of no more than five (5) minutes in duration,  as well as one (1) service interruption of no more than ten (10) minutes in duration, are anticipated during this maintenance event.

New Google Sheets

The new Google Sheets is now the default option Posted: 21 Mar 2014 04:37 PM PDT Back in December we announced the launch of the new Google Sheets. This new version is faster and can support larger spreadsheets. Over the next couple of weeks, rapid release domain users will automatically be upgraded to the new Sheets. Spreadsheets created after the upgrade will use the new version. Users may opt-out of this experience through the settings menu in Sheets.

Turnitin Maintenance on April 5th

Turnitin service may be intermittently unavailable during a scheduled maintenance period on Saturday, April 5th, 2014, from 10 AM to 2 PM. An announcement will appear for users within Turnitin in advance of when the system will be unavailable for this scheduled maintenance. 

Instructors are encouraged to modify assignment due dates either before or at least several hours after the scheduled maintenance window.

BaselineEdge Update

BaselineEdge Update

We wanted to give everyone a heads up that an issue was discovered this week with the BaselineEdge iPad application when running on the new iOS 7.1. Some users running iOS 7.1 have run into an issue when clicking on an evaluation step the pop menu <see graphic below> will not display correctly preventing them from pulling up forms. Again, this issue will only affect users who have already updated to iOS 7.1.  A new version of the BaselineEdge iPad app was submitted to Apple this afternoon that corrects the problem. Once Apple approves this release it will be available in the app store for download. We will send a follow up email letting everyone know when it is available. The new release will be version 2.7.34.

To browse through add-ons for Docs and Sheets, select Get add-ons in the Add-ons menu of any open document or spreadsheet. Once you install an add-on it will become available across all of your documents or spreadsheets and you can start using it right away. Note that add-ons for spreadsheets are only available in the new Google Sheets.

Please be advised that esped.com will be performing scheduled maintenance on Fri Mar 7th 09:00 PM EDT — Sat Mar 8th 02:00 AM EDT .

During this interval, the esped.com system will not be available.            

Update to Turnitin for iPad

There’s a new update to the Turnitin for iPad app (version 1.2.3) that was released to the App Store on Thursday, February 27, 2014.

What’s new in this release:

• Added support for some Grade Anything features
• Added support for grading without submissions
• General bug fixes and performance improvements

Please be sure to sync your changes to Turnitin prior to initiating the app upgrade. Users have reported problems when upgrading the app with unsynced changes.

If you have already upgraded the app without syncing your changes, you may encounter a black screen that prevents you from using the app. You will need to uninstall (delete) the app from your iPad, then reinstall it from the App Store. Any unsynced data will be lost and is unrecoverable.

An announcement will appear for users within Turnitin in advance of when the system will be unavailable for this scheduled maintenance. This maintenance will affect Turnitin and TurnitinUK users.

Instructors are encouraged to modify assignment due dates either before or at least several hours after the scheduled maintenance window.
